THE NIGERIAN MOTHER(thoughts of an unborn child)

By slipperyminded
She doesn’t know what to think.
Is it a boy? Is it a girl? What do we name this kid?

I want it to be a boy ,God grant me this very wish

She tried to keep it a secret for as long as she could

Till it became a trophy she has to carry around

Hope you’re eating healthy? hope you use your meds right ?

So much talk from everywhere she starts to feel she’s the child .

Sudden pain here and there

The trophy becomes a burden .

she becomes fat all of a sudden

Stirring at the mirror accepting what she’s turned to .

Talks to her unborn baby as it grows.

PUSH! The only word she hears till the baby is out

Tears of a new born baby

Tears of the long awaited mother

That’s the joy of a Nigerian mother
